What To Expect

Upon arriving at the clinic for your first appointment, you will need to fill out the necessary paperwork. (To download first-visit forms, please click here). It is recommended that you arrive to your appointments a few minutes early so you have the opportunity to sit and relax in our waiting area. This also allows for a truer reading of your pulses once in the treatment room. There is a variety of reading materials in the waiting area should you have the opportunity to arrive early.

Your first visit is two hours long and we will spend the first hour going over your medical and family history, a physical evaluation, pulse taking, and address any questions or concerns you might have. During the second hour you will receive your first acupuncture treatment.

Follow-up appointments are between 45 and 60 minutes long. These appointments usually start with a brief interview, where you have the chance of providing me feedback on your last treatment. This is very important, as your subjective feedback will often determine the direction of future treatments.

Common reports regarding acupuncture appointments are of deep relaxation. However, sometimes people may feel tired, especially after the first few appointments. That is a natural consequence of moving Qi and re-establishing balance. As your practitioner, I am always available by phone or email to answer any questions that might arise.
