Common Questions

Does Acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needles are very different than needles you usually see in doctors offices. Acupuncture needles are sterile, stainless steel, disposable needles that are as thin as a hair. Most patients report no pain at all, but some people feel a slight pinch at insertion, which almost immediately recedes.

How many treatments will I need?
The recommended frequency varies according to your past medical history, your current health, and the nature of your condition. Most people start with treatments once or twice a week. Some people stop treatments when symptoms disappear. Others choose monthly or quarterly visits for health maintenance and disease prevention.

Will insurance cover my acupuncture treatments?
Many insurance providers cover acupuncture fully or partially. Although our clinic does not take insurance directly, we are happy to provide you with a detailed receipt so you can file for reimbursement with your insurer. Please contact your insurance provider directly to verify what specific information they require from us.

What conditions can Acupuncture treat?
Please refer to Conditions Treated for a list of common illnesses addressed by Acupuncture.
